Bobcat PROWLERs Club
The Bobcat PROWLERs Club is a motivational, inspirational and behavioral modification program aimed at assisting all Beville Middle School male students while achieving academic success. The program manager will collaborate with school staff, community resources, and parents and approved community agencies to assist our students with making behavioral adjustments to be successful in our academic environment and the community.
Bobcat PROWLERs Information
Objectives & Sessions
  • Help students improve academic focus and understanding academic importance.
  • Focuses on male students appropriate and inappropriate choices.
  • Respect for all authority figures; Establishing a positive relationship with adults and all authority figures. Do what’s right even when no one is watching.
  • Self-esteem and self concept improvement; you are special and important.
  • Be a pioneer; prepare for the future; don’t be a settler; get out of your comfort zone.
  • Understanding of Self; alternatives to inappropriate anger choices; conflict resolution; feelings expression; use of “I” statements, mediation skills.
  • Understanding positive relationships/peer pressure.
  • Be responsible and take responsibility for your actions.
Procedures
  • Club activities will be a one hour after school session one day a week on every other Tuesdays ( Exceptions due to holidays/Teachers work days) beginning October 13, 2009 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM through out the academic school year. The group sessions will be held in room  TO BE ANNOUCED.
  • Dates are as follows:  Oct. 13th, 27 Th , Nov.  10th  & 24th  , Dec 8th , Jan 5 th & 19 th, Feb. 2nd & 16 th, Mar 2nd, 16th & 30th  Apr  13th & 27th, May  11th & 25th & Jun 8th
  • Ideal Club size should not exceed twenty students, however flexibility will be exercised. No student will be turned away.
  • The Club will be an open-ended Club.  Students can enter at any time. However, the students are encouraged to attend all  sessions
  • Class room location will be announced prior to each session.
  • Permission slip from parent required before the student can attend the group
  • Referral can be made by Student Support Team or an Administrator.reason for the referral.
  • Students will be allowed to ride the activity bus free, Refreshments provided
  • Journals will be required to identify anger situations, how the student responded and what the student could have done differently to avoid an inappropriate anger response or situational escalation
  • Provide tools /skills to teach /promote alternative ways of dealing with anger
  • Decrease anger incidents and inappropriate acting out
  • Help recognize and prevent potential anger situations
  • Reinforce importance of obeying authority figures & establishing positive relationships with adults, parents and friends
  • Identify / recognize all behaviors that can lead to in or out of school suspensions
  • Club participations is required

  • Home work completion will be allowed if  time permits
